Background

Animal Health Training and Consultancy Service (AHTCS) was established in 2000 as a service-oriented, non-profit making and non-governmental organization for improving living standard of marginalized communities through partnership with national and international organization and agencies. It is registered in District Administration Office Kaski and affiliated with Social Welfare Council (SWC) Lainchaur, Kathmandu and NGO Federation, Kaski.

Background of Training Program

From its established date the organization is delivering various courses of Livestock and Agriculture Training (35 days Village Animal Health Worker Training/VAHW Refresher Training/Basic Agriculture Training/Animal, Health, Husbandry and shed management Training and other short-term training) for the improvement of quality of life of poor, marginalized and needy farmers by making partnership with other partners.

 

Duties and Responsibilities;

1.Training Officer (Veterinarian)

  • Organize and carry out training, follow-up, evaluation and documentation.
  • Participate in training curriculum and material development and need assessment.
  • Provide training team support, supervision, performance development, evaluation and documentation.
  • Medicines and equipment handling.
  • Coordination and Consultation with Executive Director, Staff team, Executive Committee and other related personnel and professionals.
  • Other areas as assign by the Executive Director

2. Trainer/Assistant Training Officer (Veterinary Technician)

  • Assist Training Officer to organize, implement, manage and documentation of the training event.
  • Arrange the Animal Health Camp and other practical training sessions as per the training curriculum.
  • Other areas as assign by the Executive Director/Training Officer.

 

  Required Qualification/Experience and Competencies

   1. Training Officer

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science or Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or Bachelor of Animal Science with 1-2 years working experience in livestock related project management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills; knowledge in executing training and community development
  • Strong skills and proven ability in planning, concept note and proposal writing skills, problem solving and leadership.
  • Ability/self-discipline to develop personal goals and to achieve as well as to evaluate them.
  • Openness to change the experimentation for greater effectiveness.
  • Good spoken and written English language and computer skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, judgement and decision making ability.
  • A self-motivator, able to work unsupervised and ability to use initiative.
  • Communicate to AHTCS values and its strategy plan and politeness, gratefulness and respectable behavior that gives AHTCS a positive reputation.

   2.Trainer/Assistant Training Officer

  • Diploma in Veterinary Science (Junior Technician – JT) with 1 year working experience or Junior Technical Assistant (JTA ) with 2 years working experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills; experience in training delivery and documentation.

 

Contracting Arrangement

The Successful candidate will be included in AHTCS’s technical expert roster for the period of 3 years. Entry into the expert roster system does not necessarily mean that contract with AHTCS is guaranteed. This will depends on forthcoming needs. Where a request for services arises, the AHTCS shall directly contract the consultant from the roster without the need for further selection process.

 

Remuneration: As per the AHTCS HR policy.
